Book Meme: Day 1

Day 01 - A book series you wish had gone on longer OR a book series you wish would just freaking end already (or both!)

Longer: The "Shadows" series by Tanya Huff. Given the last was published in... 2006 so she could still continue but I want more NOW. I love this series, mainly because I love Tony. But I want to know what happens to him! I want to see him learn to use his powers. I want to see the resolution between him and Henry. Or Tony and Lee!

End Already: I am so sick of Twilight. Yes the series is over but S. Meyer keeps writing crap like The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Does anyone out there actually give a flying fuck about Bree Tanner? I know I don't. Oh and then there's Midnight Sun the story told from Edward's POV which she currently won't be finishing because it was leaked. Spoiled child much? I will be so glad when the last movie is out so it can finally start to end.

Sadly... this also means an end to Harry Potter. Hey J.K. Rowling! Write a prequel about the Mauraders! I'll be your bestie if you do!

What's killing me right now is the Anne McCaffrey 'DRAGONRIDERS OF PERN' series. Seems she has retired and passed the writing responsibility to her son. The man CAN NOT write. I struggled through his first solo book, (and it was a struggle)and just can't go anymore. What was an enjoyable series, with a worldwide following is reduced to a farce. The man obviously was/is an engineer (mining I think) and that's all he writes about, but with no coherency to the story. It rambles, it's boring and the characters - after a while who cares!

I dream of Anne Maxwell completing her FIRE DANCER series. She published 3 books, then disappeared off the Scifi scene, leaving the story hanging. Hate that!!! Might have been a publishing problem but after all these years, the copyrights/ownership should have reverted to her. Other writers have had that problem and found ways to still publish their creations.
