Pairing: None, Emmett/Seth if you really want to see one
Prompt: Come out
Seth’s heart was pounding against his ribs as he ran through the deserted, dark hallways of Forks High. No, he didn’t go here but that little fact didn’t matter right now. Someone was chasing him. Forks High just happened to be there and the door was open.
Seth could hear the footfalls of the person chasing him but he didn’t dare look back. People in the movies always looked back and they ended up dead. He didn’t want to be one of those people. Looking around franticly he spotted the school entrance to the boy’s locker room. Knowing it probably wasn’t the best idea but also thinking maybe the person would follow him in and then he could get out while they were looking… Seth ducked into the locker room.
The locker room was dark and he tripped over the bench that was secured to the floor in the middle of the rows of lockers. He swore but quickly snapped his jaw shut as the door to the locker room opened and his chaser came in. Moving quickly, but as quietly as he could Seth got up and moved around the rows of lockers.
“I know you’re in here Seth,” the boy called. Seth stopped breathing. He knew that voice… vaguely… “Come out, come out wherever you are! Oh wait… you already did that.”
‘Stupid, stupid, stupid!’ Seth thought nearly banging his head against the locker he was pressed up against. He had seen the glares after he had admitted that he was gay but he hadn’t thought anyone would chase him for it. He didn’t even know if the other boy had a weapon!
A hand came out of the darkness and covered his mouth. Seth nearly died right then and there but then he realized how cold the hand was. The next thing he noticed was the sickly sweet smell coming from the hand. This was a vampire. The one chasing him wasn’t a vampire, that much he was sure of. Casting a glance to the side he saw Emmett.
Emmett raised a finger to his lips, telling Seth to be quiet. Seth nodded against his hand so Emmett took it away. Leaning in, Emmett whispered in his ear almost too soft for Seth to hear, “Let’s get you outta here pup.”
One moment they were standing there in the darkness and the next Seth was scooped up into Emmett’s arms. They both could still hear the other boy searching through the dark locker room, cursing when he walked into the bench or an open locker door. Emmett’s grip tightened briefly and Seth felt air move against his face. The next thing he knew they were outside and Emmett was setting him on his feet.
“You okay pup?” Emmett questioned.
Seth’s heart was still racing even as he nodded. He panted, trying to calm his heart down. “Tha…thank you Emmett. You might have saved my life.”
The big vampire shrugged. “Hey pup, I was coming back from a hunt when I saw you running and that kid chasing you. I know we’re enemies and all that but I’m not gonna let a kid die on my watch.”
Seth chuckled lightly. “I’m glad you feel that way. I really didn’t want to die.”
Emmett laid a hand on Seth’s shoulder. “C’mon, let’s get you home.”
