Drabble: Words Know No Weakness

The world had made great advances between the 19th and 21st centuries. Jasper couldn’t deny that fact. But some of those advances had caused humans to become weaker… more disconnected.
Jasper was determined not to become part of the percentage that had become weaker, even if it were a vampire and not really a human.
So that was how he found himself each night, writing letters while Seth slept soundly next to him. He wrote about the events of the day, random thoughts that came to mind, about how much he loved Seth. Today though, he had someone new to start writing to. His son. Luka.
Dear Luka,
My baby. My son. Such enchanting words to me, ones I’m sure you won’t understand until you have a child of your own. I know I didn’t understand the magic until now.
You took your first breath of air today. Cried the moment that cool air hit your skin. It was a beautiful sound. If I could, I would have been crying. I know your daddy was. I hope that doesn’t make you think we were weak. We were just so happy.
I have so many hopes and dreams for you my son. It will be years before you can read these letters but I hope that one day they will help you understand just how much your daddy and I love you. You are a miracle to us both.
