Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Pairing: Zuko/Sokka
Prompt: Loincloth
“Is Snoozles trying to make the fish walk back to camp?” Toph questioned. Sokka had gone off to catch their supper over an hour ago. The moon had risen since then and hung just above the tree line. Each moment that passed increased the hunger that each member of their rag-tag group felt.
“Knowing Sokka… I wouldn’t put it past him,” Katara stated.
Zuko sighed and got to his feet. “I’ll go see what’s keeping him.”
The river wasn’t to far from camp, but the undergrowth was thick. Zuko was just about to burn a path when he heard the sound of a spear slicing through the air and hitting the water. So Sokka was still at the river, maybe there just wasn’t that many fish to catch? Silently, Zuko moved closer, stopping behind a tree when he finally spotted Sokka.
Zuko’s breath caught in his throat. Sokka stood knee deep in a calm part of the river, wearing nothing but his loincloth. His tan skin glowed in the pale moonlight, that didn’t make a lot of sense to Zuko but Sokka looked so… beautiful. The look of concentration on Sokka’s face and his posture just screamed his strength as a warrior.
The spear sliced through the air again and Zuko blinked, he hadn’t even seen Sokka move. But Sokka pulled his spear, and a wiggling fish on its end, out of the water. Taking the fish off Sokka placed it in a bucket with some other squirming fish. A twig snapped under Zuko’s foot and Sokka spun, holding his spear ready to use it as a true weapon.
“It’s just me,” Zuko stated stepping out from behind his tree.
“Zuko? What are you doing here?” Sokka questioned, a look of confusion on his face.
“It’s been over an hour. We were getting hungry and worried,” Zuko explained.
A blush lit up Sokka’s cheeks. “I didn’t notice so much time had passed.”
“Well it has.”
“Right. We should head back then.”
“Um Sokka…”
“Yeah?”
“Why are you just wearing your loincloth?”
