I have made it through my first week and a half of having an actual job. I found a job around where I live that is not fast food, that in itself is a miracle. I work at a local pharmacy that is about 20 minutes from my house.
My first day the computers were down so I couldn't do my actual job so they trained me on the register. I think I learned pretty quick and they were impressed. Just before I was getting ready to leave the computers came back up so they took me upstairs and showed me what I would really be doing.
I am putting reconciliation (sp) files into the computer. For 4 hours a day Mon. - Fri. I sit and put numbers into the compter. It is oh so much fun. Yup that's sarcasim there, but it is a lot better than working fast food.
I got my first pay check last Friday. $89.93, for only 14.75 hours! I think that's pretty good. I normally work 20 hours a week so it'll be over a hundred the next time I get it. I get $9.75 if I work overtime.
I brought my check home and set it in front of the flower, where we always put our cards and stuff. On Saturday dad asked to see it. So I showed him.
He read it off, the hours and stuff, all proud because he's my dad. Then mom looked at me with a glare and said, "You should at least -try- to get in 20 hours a week."
I can never to anything, and I mean anything to please her! I started on Wed.! Doing the hours I am posed to for Thursday and Friday I thought getting 14.75 hours in was pretty good. I got 20 for the first full week I worked, but I guess I don't get the paycheck for last week until this friday or maybe next... I don't know... I'm pretty new to this whole working and getting a paycheck thing as you can tell. ^_~
Everyday after work I go to my friend April's. I love it! We sit on her couch, watch the History Channel and write on our original stories lol. Long Time Coming is up to 175 pages and it's not even all typed! And we're not any where near the ending. The other three stories go through the sorter, we write on them when we can't think of anything for LTC. Prince doesn't have an actual title yet, Through Hawk's Eyes is about Cowboys and then there's an alternate realitiy for LTC lol.
I love my friends.
