I could make this a really really long post with all the details about Florida but I'm just gonna give you the basics.
The ride down there is already long but the fact that it rained just about the whole way made it seem so much longer. Mom and I didn't fight until we were past Frankfort (that's 30 miles!) It was a mircale. When we fought mom threatened to pull the car over and then the next few miles were spent in silence.
We had to stop for the night about a hundred miles from the Florida line. At least the hotel had live flowers in the pots unlike last year. It was then that mom discovered she had been driving in all that rain without her lights on. (She's smart).
We got to Clearwater about 4:30pm the next day, Hallie and I changed into our bathing suits and went to the beach since the pool wasn't open because a tropical storm had washed part of it out. They had been working on it for the past couple of months. We had to go without power on Monday so they could finish repairs and then the pool opened again on Tuesday.
I have a nice tan, not as dark as my mom or gran's but I like it. Hallie got her tattoo on Friday and it looked great, the guy that did it was really funny.
I became a pirate. I have a bandana with the crossbones on it and a pirate flag to hang in my dorm room when school starts back.
My fave part of the trip is that we have to cross a 7 mile bridge to get to Clearwater and you can just barely see land.
Coming back was so much better I probably slept most of the way. I think Hallie did too. All in all it was a great trip and I can't wait until next year.
Ta ta!
