Well this has diffenatly been an interesting day/night.
It started out that Amanda Jo and I were just going to go get Hallie, go the Mall, BAM and a couple of other places until Kel got off work. Then Kel was going to come to Louisville and meet up with us. Well we went to Walmart to get some things for my mom. Hallie and I both told Amanda Jo, "Just wait til we walk in, we'll see people we know." She laughed and I don't think she believed us... but the moment we walked in Hallie and I saw Carol Sue, the secretary of Henry County High. Over the course of the next 45-1 hour that we were there we saw at least another ten people we knew. Well I saw two and Hallie saw like twenty.
We were still at Walmart when Kel texted me asking where we were and I told her "Walmart lol." She had to run home to get a quick shower so she told us to just wait at Walmart and she would meet us there. We were like "Okay!" Walmart is really fun, especially when it's not right there in your town. People don't understand that from where I live Walmart is 30 minutes in both directions! Hell we don't have a Walmart in Henry County!
Anyway... so Kel came and met us and it turned out that Bekah, Kel's best friend, had to go to a poetry club for an assignment for her English class. We figured we go to the mall then go get her and then go to eat. I, and Hallie, were hoping to go to BAM but we never made it there.
We all found lip gloss (that smells fabulous!) at Bath & Body Works. We didn't really look around much because we were all getting hungry. So we called Bekah and told her that we were on our way. I was excited because I had talked to but never met Bekah. She is a really sweet and funny girl. I hope we can become better friends. We went to Tumbleweed and while waiting for our food traded some really funny stories.
When we finished we set out to find the place where this poetry reading thing was supposed to be. The building is called Expressions of You and it's in Downtown Louisville, almost to 22nd St. (YIKES!) We kept talking about how scary 22 St is so by the time that we actually parked the car (after passing the building and turning around twice) we were all pretty freaked out and didn't really want to get out of the car.
But I am so glad we did!
We went insside and sat down, the show was supposed to start at 9:30 but it was actually 10:45 before things got going. My butt was going numb and the chairs hurt my back... but the talent of those who spoke! Wow! It totally blew my mind. The host was really funny, his facial expressions cracked me up. The first girl they brought up had a beautiful singing voice and the song she sang reminded me of a brown eyed boy I know. All I could think while she was singing was of him and, "She needs to audition for American Idol."
The next girl read three poems, they had a lot to do with political things but she really had a way with words and I agreed with her opinion so SHE ROCKED!
The other speakers were just as cool but the first guy, I think he was like fourth to go, sang some gospel songs and they really moved me. The quote for this entry comes from one of the songs he sang.
We left the club around 12, each thinking the same thing, "We have GOT to come back!"
On the way back to LaGrange to drop off Kel and Bekah, I explained the game I play when I'm on the interstate. I have a touch of ADD so it's easy for me to get distracted, which when driving is not a good thing. So this game makes me concentrate on the road and therefore pay attention. What I do is when I change lanes I try to not hit the reflectors in the middle of the road. If I don't hit them it's two points but if I do then it's minus one. Bekah said she was gonna start playing that game now too. ^_~
So we said our goodbye's, I drove back to Campbellsburg to drop Hallie off. Once more there were goodbye's and then Amanda Jo and I headed back to my house. On the way Amanda Jo asked a lot about my mom and how she makes me feel about myself (which for the most part is crap). Amanda Jo asked if I had low self-esteem because of my mom and I said, "Yes." She asked why and I explained that the main two reasons were because I'm not perfect. I don't make the grades she wants, I don't have the body she wants, basically I am not her. The song "Numb" by Linkin Park is dedicated to my mom when she annoys me, but on the flip side I would not trade her for someone else for the world.
Now I am typing this, watching 'True Caribbean Pirates' on the History Channel and Amanda Jo is asleep. I should be asleep because we have to be up for Dad's party by 11. Beeeeeedddddddd.... it has a nice ring to it.
One last thing and then I'm out!
I bought two cards while at Walmart. One for Dad's b-day and one for Brandon for Valentine's. In case he does get bored and decides to read this I'm not going to put what Brandon's says in an entry until after he gets it. XD I hope it makes him laugh. I know it did us.
