National Suicide Prevention Week
Sep. 6th, 2010 02:06 am"This is National Suicide Prevention Week. More than 5 million people in the U.S. have been directly affected by suicide. I am one of those people and nearly every day I read a postcard from someone else sharing their suicide story for the first time.
HopeLine 1(800)784-2433 offers confidential help 24/7. Call to speak with a trained volunteer if you need help for yourself or for someone you know. Visit the Kristin Brooks Hope Center to learn how you can become a HopeLine volunteer or join the new online crisis center - IMAlive." - Quoted from Post Secret.
I have never had someone truly close to me commit suicide but I know a couple of my friends who have seriously thought about it. I thank God everyday that they didn't go through with it. I don't know if they called hotlines like the one's above but I know of people that these sites have truly helped. It's a great thing they do in my opinion.
I hope those of you reading this will take this info and file it away in case it is ever needed.
Make someone smile today. You never know, it could save their life.
