TOKYO – Japanese police say 200 to 300 bodies have been found in a northeastern coastal area (Sendai) where a massive earthquake spawned a tsunami.

The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake unleashed a 23-foot (7-meter) tsunami and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks for hours, many of them of more than magnitude 6.0. Earlier, police confirmed at least 60 people had been killed and 56 were missing. The death toll was likely to continue climbing given the scale of Friday's disaster.

Horrible... horrible event. My prayer's are with those in Japan and with those who have family there and in other danger zones (Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California & Mexico).

My mom is convinced that this is just another event that is going to lead to the world "imploding".

Day 7 — Your Ex-boyfriend/girlfriend/love/crush

I shall go a few years back as to not offend anyone on AA.

In 4th grade (okay… maybe more than a few), I met the boy who would be my crush for the next 7 years. His name was Chris. He had long blonde hair and brown eyes. He wouldn’t give me the time of day. Not surprising, nobody aside from my ultimate geek soulmate Richard, would give me the time of day in elementary school. At the end of 4th grade year Chris moved away.

In 6th grade he was back. He was in a couple of my classes and we spoke a few words to each other now and then. He liked DBZ and because I wanted him to like me I started watching DBZ and ultimately Toonami. This is the boy that seriously got me into anime folks!

Chris became the unofficial leader of my little band of outcasts in the 8th grade and was all through high school. As fate would have it either I or my best guy friend Shelby turned out to be second in command, depending on who was around.

Skipping ahead a few years… Chris broke my heart in 11th grade. No, I don’t want to go into detail about it. We’ll just leave it at I cried a lot. It effectively ended my crush on him. I’ve only spoken to him once since and that was because we were in the same ‘6 month after getting your license class’ one Saturday.

In a lot of ways Chris helped me become the person I am today. He got me into anime, he commented on how much I read then, at one point he told me I was to loud and therefore I became quieter.

They say you never forget your first love/crush. I’d have to say that’s true. I’ll never forget Chris. To bad all memories can’t be sweet ones.
