Dear FF.net Support:

In the past two weeks I have reported numerous errors from when I try to update works I have in the Avatar: The Last Airbender and Twilight fandoms. I am still experiencing these errors. I have noticed that others are not as I am still receiving updates from other fandoms. Normally it doesn't take this long for these errors to be corrected.

What are these errors? When will they be corrected? An announcement on the main page addressing this issue would be most appreciated.

Thank you.

I really wanted to tell them to stop being so sucky. But I figured that didn't sound professional... nor would insulting them get me anywhere. Hopefully I'll get a reply to this email that I just sent. I encourage everyone who is experiencing issues to send a similar email addressing the issues you are having to support@fanfiction.net.

EDIT:

For those who don't read others comments (guilty), [livejournal.com profile] scatteredlogic gave me the link to another's journal where they tell about a round-about way to update existing stories.

"If you get a type 2 error after clicking on the edit story button, then what you can do is go to the address bar (the place where you type in the address of a website you want to go to), and where it says properties, replace that with content. That will allow you to still be able to post new chapters."

Another person from the ^above link also posted this:

"Posting A New Fic

When posting a new fic choose a random category that you are allowed to post in. I used Harriet the Spy. You will obviously not be able to select which characters the fic includes but I hardly think that's terribly important. Post the story. When you hit save another page comes up after to say it has been posted and ask whether you would like to edit/add chapter. Click on here and it will allow you to edit the category. Change it to Harry Potter and press save. The Error message will come up again but when you check your profile you will find it has now been moved to the correct category."

As someone pointed out though, those watching you on ff.net will not get a notification that you have changed the category.

If anyone else comes up with anything while we wait on ff.net I encourage you to post on the original topic.
