RIP Blackie Boy

This morning my mom had to have our oldest cat put down. Blackie Boy was 14 years old and a massive tomcat. We always remembered fondly how he came to call our house home.
I was 10 when my old babysitter brought another little boy she watched down to my house to jump on the trampoline. As they passed some large bushes near my house a little black kitten jumped out and started following them. They knew we didn't want or need anymore cats so the little boy tried his hardest to get that kitten to go back into the bushes but no sooner had he gotten back to the babysitter the kitten was back too. He was bound and determined to make our house home.
Blackie Boy grew into a huge tomcat. Seriously, his head was as big as a grapefruit. But he was a gentle giant. A kitty who didn't meow but chirped, loved to sleep next to you and was quite content to sleep the day away only waking to turn over. He was run over twice, had part of his ear missing, hopped on three legs because the joint of his fourth had frozen up, was blind in one eye and couldn't hear. But he was our boy.

RIP Blackie Boy
You will be missed.
