Pairing: Magnus/Alec (post break up)
Prompt: I knew he'd been there because he'd stubbed out his cigarette in the sink...
‘Alec has been here…’ I thought with a sigh. I hadn’t even unlocked the door to my apartment yet and I still knew he had been here. My fingers had brushed the miniscule scratches he had left in his attempts to pick the lock. 8 months after their breakup and Alec was still coming by, though never when I am home.
Opening the door I looked around, curious to see if this time Alec had stuck around. But no, the apartment was empty save for Chairman Meow curled up on the back of the hot pink couch. If there had been any question of Alec’s presence the cigarette stubbed out in the sink would have been a dead giveaway. My nose crinkled a bit at the lingering smell.
Cigarette smoke was one of the least appealing smells of nearly everything I had experienced in my long life. Leaning down over the sink a bit I got a better idea of the kind of cigarettes Alec had taken to smoking. ‘Orange flavored…very Alec…’ I thought with a slight smirk. I could also smell a bit of alcohol. The combination made my heart ache.
I thought Alec was stronger than this… I thought… well, I never thought I would be his weakness.
