Fandom: Rise of the Guardians
Pairing: Jack/Jamie (pre)
Prompt: Gift
Jack coughed as he went to slip out Jamie’s window but a hand on the hood of his hoody stopped him, the action caused the fabric to choke him and he fell back through the window and onto Jamie’s bedroom floor. “Jack you can’t go!” The eleven year old exclaimed.
Jack rubbed his neck and sat up. “Jamie, we talked about this… I can’t stay in Burgess forever.”
“Yes you can! You can make it stay winter forever!”
Shaking his head, Jack got to his feet. He sat on the sill of the window, leaning against his staff. “Winter can’t be forever Jamie. What about the flowers? And swimming in the ponds in the summer? I may not get to do those things, but I know how much you enjoy them.”
“Well, yeah but…”
“No buts.”
“But I don’t want you to leave!”
Jack smiled. He made a loose fist, bringing his fist to his mouth and blowing cold air into it. When he opened his fist a single white snowflake hung on a silver chain. Balancing his staff in the crook of his neck Jack picked up the chain between his fingers and held it out to Jamie.
“Here, one of my most beautiful snowflakes. With this, a part of me is always with you.”
Jamie slipped the necklace over his head. The snowflake landed on the skin of his chest and his eyes widened. “It’s cold!”
“And as long as I’m Jack Frost it will always be cold,” Jack assured him.
“Thanks Jack!” Jamie flung himself into Jack’s arms, hugging him tightly. He still didn’t want his friend to leave… but this gift made his absence a little bit easier.
