Day 28 - A pairing that you will never understand?

Edward Cullen x Bella Swan
Twilight

GAG ME!

I honestly don't understand this couple. I never have. S. Meyer is a sick person for putting them together. Bella has serious mental issues. Not because she wants to become a vampire, I have no issue with that. But because she thinks no one likes her, no boys ever pay her any attention, she has a father who doesn't love her, and she's smart. Now, the truth? Bella is very well liked when she first moves to Forks (we aren't told anything about her school in Phoenix), on her first day she has at least 3 human boys tripping over themselves to gain her attention, Charlie loves Bella very much... he has all of her school pictures in the living room... kept her room the way it was with a few upgrades... AND he puts SNOW CHAINS on her tires without being asked (which also he is never thanked for), and we are constantly reminded that she has already studied EVERYTHING they are studying at Forks High.

Now then... Edward... I really have no words to say about him other than I hate him. Unless he's paired with Jacob. There are so many things about him it would take pages upon pages to address them all. Cutting it down? He's a whiny, emo, brat.

And together? EdwardxBella = Disaster.

Bella constantly puts everyone, the Cullen's first, in danger. Edward spoils Bella. Bella always complains about the things Edward does for her. Bella doesn't want to get married even though it's to the most perfect being that ever walked the planet (to her). And we must not forget the bruises Edward left after the first time they had sex. Edward is possessive, a stalker (which he admits) and a kidnapper...which he also makes his family do as well. This is honestly the worst couple ever and for actual people to base their relationship on them is sickening!

I think your response is because recently there have been strong women protrayed on screen and in books.
Bella's character is a throwback to a time when
a girl was expected to only want marriage, even after college. You'll note, nowhere in the books does Bella even think, much less suggest a possible career. And this is solely at the feet of Ms Meyer. Now, is it due to her own upbringing and religion? Are Mormom women encouraged to pursue careers?

Morman women are encouraged to stay at home and have children. My brother in law's family are mormans. *shrugs*

Mormans, in general, are old fashion. *shrugs*

But, really, this has nothing to do with Bella...

The relationship she shares with Edward is very unheathly even more 'old fashioned' times.

I mean...what's your first thought when you hear a guy is sneaking into a girl's room to watch her sleep? oO

Oh, I agree. Today he would be arrested as a PERVERT! That's why the whole story is contrary to the actual times in which we live.
Ms Meyer set the story timeline for the 21st century, but it's a fairy tale.

And that exactly why younger teenage girls like it and then they're left with a false pretense of what love is suppose to be like.

*shakes head*

But that's the thing. Bella could have been a strong character. She was practically a feminist. But instead she became a whiny, emo...bitch.

I love your stuff about Twilight. You're the only person I trust to keep me informed. Because I will never, ever read the books.

All of that aside, that picture is a gorgeous, gorgeous thing… I mean, if I didn't know it was Edward and Bella.

Lol -bows- Well I try. I also recommend Dan's blog "Blogging Twilight". He's reading the books and blogging about each chapter. It's a way to keep up without actually reading, plus it's hilarious. Just Google it.

The picture is pretty. It would be prettier if it was Edward and Jacob :P

ha youur comments are so true, its bad when the actor hates the chacter that he's protraying I.E. Robert Pattinson hates playing Edward Cullen, and says the only reason the only reason why he plays the chracter is Because of kristen Stewret, and I agree with who ever wrote that the top pic is pretty, but it would be prettier if it was Edward and Jake
