Day 05 - A book or series you hate


The Twilight Saga

I hate, hate HATE this series. The writing is crap. It is so filled with plot holes you could drive a mack truck through them. Most of the characters are crap. It supports stalking, spouse abuse, kidnapping and near suicide.

But I'm reading/watching it. Why? Without reading/watching, books and movies respectively, I cannot have an opinion. You can diss the series until you are blue in the face but unless you have read the books or watched the movies your opinion doesn't count.

This is how much I hate the series... my friend Lexi read them before I did to see what all the hype was about. Her opinion is one I still agree with today, "It's sad when a series is written in first person POV and you could care less if that person dies."

In fact, the series would have been better if Bella had died. Then Edward and Jacob could have gotten together and all would have been right in the world.

The series is only so popular because of the fanfiction. xP Fanfiction writers flesh out SM's characters and make them less shitty.

...though most of the time people still want to run Bella over, but what can you do? *shrugs*

I've never read the books. And I hate the movies (but Im ashamed to admit that I found Eclipse surprisingly enjoyable) I've concluded that Jacob is my favorite character and there is just something undeniable about Edward/Jacob that draws me in!!

Can't think of any series I hate/dislike. If I'm not enjoying a book, I just don't continue reading.

The DUNE series was much like that; after reading the first 2 books, I found I just couldn't raise my interest level to read anymore. Then the son started the 'prequel' stories which I did find interesting. It went off the rails at the MACHINE WAR stories and then lost my interest.

'TWILIGHT SAGA' was different in that it presented a different view on vampires. For that reason I continued reading. The last book however was the PITS! So poorly written, jumped all over the place and I was SOOOOOOO tired of just one POV!

I find it amusing that quite a few of the people who write Twilight fanfiction – mostly slash – also happen to dislike the books or hate them outright. And people think we're hypocrites because of that; I got chewed out by some idiot because I write TwiSlash and yet I hate the books. Then again, they were pretty much an idiot who couldn't come up with a decent comeback and were stuck on their high horse with a stick the size of a two-by-four stuck up their ass.

Honestly, the Twitards are scary. They make me want to hide and make me lose faith in humanity more so than even the Narutards. *shudders*

I know right? I actually think it's the one's who hate Twilight that write the best fanfiction. Funny how that works out huh?
