The Outsiders
By S.E. Hinton
We had to read this book in 7th grade as part of our required reading. Normally I don't like the books that are required reading but the further we got into this the more I fell in love with the characters. By the time we were on chapter 3 I had to go to the library and check a copy out so I could finish it on my own.
I remember riding on the bus when I learned...SPOILERthat Johnny diedEND SPOILER. I cried because I loved his character... but honestly I love all the characters. I love the story, the events... the fact that Hinton was only 16 when she wrote this novel.
It is and prolly always will be my fave book of all time.
