Drabble: Bella Notte

Pairing: Edward/Bella
Prompt: Mars is bright tonight
“Come on, I want to show you something,” Edward said taking Bella’s hand.
Bella shivered and Goosebumps rose on her skin but she laced her fingers with Edward’s anyway. “What is it?”
“A surprise. You’ll need a better coat,” Edward advised. He went to the hall closet and pulled out her heaviest winter coat.
“That?” Bella asked in surprise. It was barely fall outside.
“The air is much thinner where we’re going. You’ll need it.” Edward held the coat up and Bella sighed as she slipped into it. Once her coat was fastened Edward led Bella outside, she was on his back within seconds and he was running through the forest.
Bella buried her face against Edward’s neck. He had been right, moving at this speed the slight chill in the air turned downright cold. The higher up the mountain they moved the colder it got, the thinner the air got. Finally, just before she couldn’t breathe anymore Edward stopped and she slid off his back. Bella took a few swallow breaths to adjust to the thinner air. Once she was ready she took his hand again.
“Where are we going?” She questioned.
“Just a little ways ahead,” he answered leading her into the darkness.
Bella stumbled over roots, rocks and her own two feet while Edward didn’t have any problems. After what seemed like forever to Bella, but was really only a few minutes, Edward stopped. Bella blinked and looked around but didn’t see anything.
“Edward, what…?”
“Look up,” he said simply.
Bella looked to the sky and a gasp left her lips. “Is that…?”
“Mars,” Edward stated with a nod.
“It’s so bright!”
Edward turned and looked into Bella’s eyes. “Bella, it’s a warning.”
A/N: I'm a slash writer. The only Edward/Bella I've ever written is where Bella tries to steal Edward from Jacob or Jacob has stolen Edward from her. XD Hope this turned out good despite that!
