Many things
Feb. 15th, 2006 11:00 pmOk many things happening... but I'm gonna try and cover it quick.
1. Retook a World Civ exam, hoping I do better this time lol. I cheated off myself, I'm not sure if that can get me in trouble or not.
2. Fell going UP the concrete steps going to class this morning.
3. Failed a Math quiz.
4. Turned in my english essay 100 words short of the minimum amount but I didn't have anything else to say and no one could tell me anything else to add!
5. I lost my thumbnails for Color & Design, which are the small drawings the rest of my work is posed to be based off of. Created pretty little design out of butterfly's.
6. Failed my Ren. - Mod. Art test. I just can't remember all those artist, work names, century, country and medium! My brain just doesn't work like that!
So all in all BAD DAY!
Now a Valentine's Day poem that is going around my college campus, or as I have taken to calling that day, 'Single Awarness Day'.
"hearts and roses and kisses galore
what the hell is all that shit for
people get mushy and start actin queer
its definately the most annoyin day of the year
this day needs to get the hell over with and pass
before i shove a dozen roses up cupids ass
ill spend the day so drunk i cant speak
and wear all black for the rest of the week
guys act all sweet but it will soon fade
for all they are doin is tryin to get laid
the arrow cupid shot at me must not have hit
because i think love is a crock of shit
so here's my story what else can i say
love bites my ass, fuck valentines day."
Now... I have a new story for you.
Title: Friends Like Us
Author: Me
Rating: G
Summary: -SONGFIC- The twins, Legolas and Estel all take off to just have some fun as friends.
Warnings: Non-slash
Disclaimers: I do not own the lyrics (bold), the words have been changed a bit. The original song is "Cowboys Like Us" by: George Strait. And of course I do not own LOTR! Shame shame if you thought so.
Friends Like Us
Thranduil watched as Legolas attached his pack to his horse’s saddle and then swung up and trotted the excited stallion in a circle to calm and warm him up.
"You will be careful won't you?" He questioned. Legolas just smirked.
"Aren’t I always father?" Legolas replied. Thranduil smiled wryly shaking his head at his son.
"Maybe but you still find trouble and it is my job as a father to worry."
Legolas just laughed and stopped the horse beside his father. He raised his hand to his shoulder and brought it away in the normal elven goodbye, his head lowered in respect for his father. Thranduil did the same and then watched as Legolas nudged the stallion’s sides and the stallion took off with amazing speed through the gates of Mirkwood.
"That boy and those twins had better not cause trouble while my son is with them…" Thranduil murmured as he turned back toward the castle.
I take off time to time
With those crazy friends of mine
Head out on horses
With packs and we ride
Estel and the twins had been waiting for Legolas at their agreed upon meeting place. Once Legolas arrived they settled down for the night just catching up with each other and resting their horses. The next day they would ride early, with the sunrise.
We burn up that road to lands untold
Blend in with the desert
Just we amigos
And we ride
Dark clouds were building in the east, the wind picking up and the horses were becoming a bit jittery with the sense of the coming storm.
"We should find cover and put up camp," Estel stated. Legolas looked at him in shock.
"Come Estel! Where is your sense of adventure?" He questioned and then kicked his horse and took off chasing the quickly disappearing sun. The twins and Estel glanced at each other.
"Crazy elf," they all murmured before kicking their horses and following after him, the wind blowing their hair back from their faces.
There was a certain thrill they got from this feeling. No thoughts, just this feeling, freedom.
Friends like us sure do have fun
Racin the wind, chasin the sun
Take the long way around back to square one
Today we re just outlaws out on the run
There’ll be no regrets, no worries and such
Estel puffed on his pipe as he stared up at the stars, his brothers were doing the same on their own bunks and Legolas was sitting up on a low tree branch singing softly. Estel listened to the beautiful elven melody, it was a love song from a warrior to the girl he had left behind.
"What about it Ro?" He asked suddenly. Elrohir looked over at him with a raised eyebrow.
"What about what?" Elrohir replied.
"Will you ever get married? Have children?"
Elrohir blinked caught completely by surprise of the question. He looked back up at the sky in thought. A smile same to his lips as he looked over at his twin.
"I guess I will if Ell does," he answered. Elladan coughed.
"What?!"
"Well if you get married I’m alone, so if you get married I guess I’ll get married so I won’t be alone," Elrohir explained.
"That’s a stupid reason," Estel and Elladan told him at the same time.
"Well, what about you?" Elrohir questioned. Estel bit down on his pipe and he could feel all their eyes on him. Elrond had just given him the total truth about his heritage about two months ago.
"I guess… I mean if I end up claiming the throne of Gondor I will have to because it is only right."
"You should never do something like that because ‘it is only right’," Legolas said as he jumped down from his perch. Estel watched as he walked closer.
"What do you mean?"
"If you are going to get married and have children it should be out of love not duty or because someone expects you to," Legolas answered.
"Oh I see. Well what about you oh great Prince of Mirkwood?" Estel teased knowing Legolas had the same expectations forced upon himself.
"No."
"No?" Elladan, Elrohir and Estel echoed.
"No. Hello’s and goodbye’s come and go to quickly in Mirkwood with the growing evil. I will not put a wife through that should something happen to me, or myself if something should happen to her," Legolas explained.
Well… that did make sense… Legolas’s kingdom was defiantly the most dangerous out of all of them.
"Let’s not talk about these depressing things." Estel pulled out a bottle of liquor, took a swig and then tossed it to Legolas, who was closest now.
For friends like us
We talk about livin , babies, and women
All that we’ve lost and all we’ve been givin
We sing about true love, lie about things we haven’t done
Drink some more, come morning get up
"This looks like a good town," Elladan said as they sat on the hill above the town.
"Very, look, bottles already sitting out on the tables to age and pies to cool," Elrohir agreed with a smile.
"Let’s do it then. Las, you know what to do right?" Estel questioned adjusting the mask over his face. Legolas nodded, pulling up his own mask as the twins did the same. Kicking their horses into a full gallop they rode down into the village.
Cries of alarm went up as they served in and out of people, causing innocent fun. Elladan picked up the bottles of liquor and Elrohir swiped the pies while Estel kept people distracted. Just as the cry of ‘robbers’ was raised Legolas rode by dropping a bag of money onto a table to pay for what they had taken.
As fast as they came they were gone, laughing heavily at their own antics.
And we ride
Friends like us sure do have fun
Racin the wind, chasin the sun
Take the long way around back to square one
Today we re just outlaws out on the run
There’ll be no regrets, no worries and such
Elrond entered the room after telling a servant to bring food for his sons and Legolas. He had to smile at the heart warming picture they made. Elladan and Elrohir propped against each other on one couch, their eyes half closed. Estel leaning back against the other couch that Legolas was on, his head tipped down to his chest. And Legolas, laying on his stomach on the couch, one arm hanging over the side, his eyes open but clouded with elven dreams, a small smile playing on his lips.
For friends like us
Friends like us sure do have fun
Racin the wind, chasin the sun
Take the long way around back to square one
Today we re just outlaws out on the run
There’ll be no regrets, no worries and such

And last but not least...
