twislash_100's Valentine's Day Challenge
Seth glared at the couples around the bonfire. Jacob, Edward, Quil, Embry: they wouldn't notice, to lost in each other to.
Guitar in hand, Seth stalked down the beach, his thoughts still at the fire. While he couldn't blame them, he hated Valentine's Day.
“Why do you hate Valentine’s Day?”
Seth jumped at Jasper’s voice. “Thought you couldn’t mind-read.”
“I can’t,” Jasper replied sitting in the sand near Seth. “But I can feel your contempt.” The vampire nodded his head in the direction of the other couples.
“Oh. I don’t really hate Valentine’s Day, really it’s just another day. I hate the way it makes people act,” Seth explained.
“And how is that?” Jasper questioned.
“Y’know, guys act sweet but all they really want is to get laid.” Jasper nodded in agreement. “Girls think this day is special when really how their guy treats them today is how they should be treated everyday.”
Jasper watched Seth. He knew Seth was different but he wasn’t sure just how different. Until now.
“I should be heading out. I was on my way to go hunting,” Jasper said standing.
Seth blinked up at him not sure why Jasper was leaving. Was it something he said? “…okay…”
“Goodbye Seth.”
"Bye." Seth watched Jasper disappear. As he turned his attention to his guitar, his eye caught something in the sand where Jasper had been sitting. He smiled.
Call me. 328-259-0491. Surrounded by a heart.
‘Maybe Valentine’s Day isn’t so bad after all,’ Seth thought.
