The black alpha wolf trotted into the clearing followed by a gangly sandy colored wolf. The rest of the pack had already shown up. Tonight was Seth’s first pack meeting. He was nearly bouncing with excitement. Most of the pack found his excited thoughts amusing and refreshing compared to the drama that had been playing out over the last few weeks.
This was not the case of the dark silver wolf that watched Seth with a look of disdain and annoyance in his dark eyes. Ahh… I see the screw-up fairy has visited again.
Sam, Jacob and Leah felt their hackles rise, each ready to defend Seth. But their defense wasn’t needed as Seth focused his chocolate gaze with Paul’s. He drew himself to his full height, though his posture still held a hint of playfulness.
Aw Paul, I’m really easy to get along with. Just as soon as you learn to worship me.
The pack was quiet for a moment and then laughter rang out through the pack mind. Quil and Embry were both rolling on their backs as their barks filled the year. Even those not laughed on the outside had wolfish smirks on their faces, Paul included.
Burn! Quil laughed.
Someone who can give back as quickly as Paul gives. I like the kid. Jared stated.
Paul stared at Seth and Seth stared back. Something passed between them. Finally Paul approached and licked Seth’s cheek. Tushay Seth, tushay.
