Drabble: (Un)Answered Prayers

Pairing: Marcus/Seth
Prompt: Survival Horror



Seth still wouldn’t, or couldn’t, talk about what had happened to him in the four months between his disappearance and Marcus’ finding him. Alec watched him closer than ever even though the danger had passed with Aro gone. He still felt insanely guilty for the harm and pain that Seth had suffered because he had been weak. Marcus and Alec both watched Seth closely though now, Seth didn’t object like he had in the past. One to many nights of waking up screaming had stopped that.

After the nightmares was the only time Seth would mention what had happened. It was only ever a few words. Never enough for Marcus to put the whole puzzle together. The words Seth spoke tonight though… he never wanted to hear again.

“I was praying for death to come…” Seth licked his lips. “Begging. When you opened the door all I could see was light. I thought my prayers had been answered…”
