Drabble: Caught off Guard

Pairing: Jasper/Seth
Prompt: Mating season
Jasper was whistling as he came into the Cullen house. He looked around but the place appeared to be empty. Of course, he could hear Esme humming in the kitchen as she cooked supper for those that ate in her ever growing family.
“Jasper? Is that you?” She called when she heard the door close (and his whistling).
“Mhm,” he answered as he came into the kitchen and pecked her on the cheek. “What’re the boys having for supper tonight?”
“Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, rolls with apple pie for dessert,” she replied.
“Sounds like a feast,” he chuckled. “Where’s Seth?”
“He was so anxious about you coming back from your hunting trip he wouldn’t leave me alone. So I sent him to take a nap.”
Jasper hummed and cast his senses out for his lover. Seth’s emotions were calm so maybe he had gotten to sleep. “How much longer til supper?”
“About forty minutes. I just got started.”
He nodded and headed out of the kitchen to his and Seth’s basement room. Opening the door he stepped down onto the stairs and closed the door back. He didn’t know what it was but something made him take a deep breath (probably the fact that he loved Seth’s scent so much).
That might have been a mistake.
With that deep inhalation of breath Jasper got a full whiff of some alluring… almost musky scent. Somehow he knew that scent was coming from Seth. Jasper’s pupils dilated and he quickly made his way down the stairs.
Seth was asleep on their futon when Jasper climbed on top of him and buried his nose in Seth’s neck. The younger wolf woke up, smiling when he felt Jasper’s cool body pressed against him. “Jazz…”
“What is that smell Seth?” Jasper practically purred as he started licking and nibbling on Seth’s neck.
Seth chuckled, the sound coming out deeper than usual. “I’m in heat. It’s mating season for us shifters. That’s why I couldn’t wait for you to get home. Like it?”
“Love it. Now, what’s the quickest way to get your clothes off?”
