When I walked into that diner and she spoke to me with those sparkling gold eyes… I thought I had found home. When she smiled at me… it made my whole world better. That smile was something I needed then. The salvation I needed while dealing with my own personal hell.
And it was enough for almost a hundred years. Until I met him.
Seth Clearwater had the eyes of a child, one that had never been touched by the horrors of the world. His smile and easy going manner brought out something in me… something that was stronger than any emotion I had ever felt.
With Alice, I had wanted to protect her but she had never needed me to. And Seth… well rationally Seth didn’t need my protection but he welcomed it. At times he would roll his eyes but I could always feel the love for me growing stronger after each moment. When he smiled at me… I felt this warm feeling settle in my stomach and it was all I could do to squeeze his fingers and return the smile.
It took Alice telling me what I already knew to take the final step. “What we had Jazz… was a house, which is made of walls and beams. But with Seth, you have a home. A home that will be built with love and dreams.”
