Drabble: Never an Option

Pairing: Jasper/Seth
Prompt: "Never Let You Go."
“NOOOO!” Jasper screamed as he fell to his knees beside Seth’s broken form. His wolf wasn’t dead yet, he could still hear the faint beat of Seth’s heart. Jasper, quickly but carefully as he could, gathered Seth into his arms. He was barely aware of the rest of his family checking the condition of the other wolves. All that mattered to him right now was Seth.
As he was adjusted a pained sound escaped Seth’s lips. He struggled to open his eyes, needing to know what he was brought from his blissful unconsciousness. Through his fuzzy vision he could see Jasper staring down at him, his worry and fear washing over Seth’s senses like a flood.
“Ja-” It was all he could get out before a cough ripped through his body, blood erupting from his lips. If that hadn’t hurt so much he would have screamed.
“Seth… oh Seth, don’t move. We’ll get you help. You’ll be okay,” Jasper blabbered. He looked around the battlefield searching for Carlisle. The solider in him didn’t miss the signs of battle… no one could miss that much carnage. “Carlisle! Help!”
It was too much. Carlisle was trying to save all the wolves. He needed more hands but that wasn’t going to happen. “Keep him alive until I can get there!” He called, his hands covered with Embry’s blood.
Jasper looked back down at Seth, listened to his slowing heartbeat. His panic was rising. He couldn’t lose Seth. Jasper bowed his head. “I’m sorry Seth,” he whispered. “But I’ll never let you go…” Bringing Seth’s wrist to his lips he hoped Seth would forgive him. As his teeth sank into the still warm flesh he could only hear Seth’s scream.
