Jasper lay on his and Alice’s bed with a book open in his hands. The rest of his family had either gone hunting or shopping. For once he hadn’t felt the need to go so here he was, just enjoying the quiet of the house. And then the front door opened…
“Hey! Anyone home?”
Jasper’s lips twitched with a smile as he felt Seth’s typical happiness touch his senses. “Up here Seth!” He called back. He listened as Seth bounded up the stairs and smiled when he appeared in the doorway. For a moment Seth just stood there and Jasper couldn’t help but bask in the happiness that radiated from him. A moment later Seth was laying on the bed beside him, plucking the book from his hands to look it over.
“Another historical novel Jazz?” Seth asked making a face.
“Hey,” Jasper said taking his book back. “I happen to enjoy historical novels.”
“I know you do but really, you should try reading something else. Broaden your horizons!” Seth threw his arms out, one hitting Jasper in the stomach.
Jasper snorted. He closed his book and set it aside, turning to lie on his side so he was facing Seth. “Did you only come over to criticize the books I read?”
Seth shrugged. “Not really, just came to visit. Where is everyone?”
“Out,” Jasper answered.
“Oh really?”
Jasper arched an eyebrow at the change in Seth’s tone. His happiness was changing to something else too but Jasper couldn’t make it out just yet. His eyes widened when Seth brought a hand up and rested it over his still heart, the heat from his palm radiating through Jasper’s t-shirt. Jasper realized what emotion he was now feeling from Seth when Seth raised his eyes to meet his own.
“Seth?” Seth’s hand trailed down Jasper’s chest, going over his hard abs, coming to a stop just on his belt buckle. Jasper swallowed even though he didn’t need to. “Seth? What are you doing?”
“I’ve always been curious about something,” Seth said softly. Jasper took the bait.
“What’s that?”
Seth fingers left Jasper’s belt buckle, his hand cupping Jasper’s growing erection (one Jasper hadn’t even noticed) through his jeans. A gasp left Jasper’s lips and his hips jerked against Seth’s hand on their own accord.
“Is everything bigger in Texas?”
