Prompt: Continue this… (A continuation of “You are my Sunshine”)
When Luka woke up a couple of hours later he was in his bed at Embry’s. He blinked at the wall for a moment before sitting up, rubbing his eyes. Within moments he smelled something delicious and his stomach growled. Slipped off the bed he headed into the main room. “Emy?”
Embry turned from where he was putting the finishing touches on the hamburgers and French fries he had made for supper. “Hey buddy, all rested?”
Luka nodded. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to fall asleep. Naps are for babies.”
“Who says?” Embry questioned turning back to his cooking.
“Kids at school,” Luka answered climbing up into his seat at the kitchen table.
“Well, I still like to take naps if I’ve had a hard day. Does that make me a baby?” He waited a moment and then turned, bringing the plate of hamburgers to the table. Luka was staring at him with wide eyes.
“You take naps?”
“Sometimes, there’s nothing wrong with naps.” Embry brought the fries over. “I made angel food cake with strawberries for dessert.”
“Yummy!”
