This won't be long, just an after thought I had from my last entry. I could have edited the last but where's the fun in that?

Anyway!

Back before Thanksgiving I got the best present of all from my parents. My mom agreed to pay for me and a friend to go see Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert as long as I kept my math grade up.

TSO was at Rupp Arena for part of their Winter 2007 tour. My friend, Lexi, and I decided to make a weekend of it. Mom called and got us a hotel room at this nice little motel that [livejournal.com profile] aubreys_master told me about and on the Friday before the concert we headed out from Williamsburg to find our hotel about an hour or so away.

The hotel was not that hard to find. I called [livejournal.com profile] aubreys_master once we had gotten settled in and invited her to come out to eat with us. I went and picked her up and we all went to Logan's Roadhouse. It was so much fun getting to hang out with her. Afterward we went to Barnes & Noble and another bookstore called Half Price Books (where I found the entire series of Revolutionary Girl Utena on VHS for $6!). We then came back to the hotel and she redid my profile layout (looks amazing doesn't it? ^_^)

The next day Lexi and I were so excited it was almost hard to wait for that night to get there. We decided that since we didn't know our way around town all that well that we should leave almost 2 hours early, giving plenty of time to get lost, which we did. Although to tell the truth we weren't lost, I was just to close to the right turning lane when I should have been in the left and had to turn the other way to turn around and come back on the road we should have been on.

Getting into Rupp was much easier. There were so many people! I was quite surprised by how many older people there were. I don't know many older people who enjoy high powered electric guitars and the like.

The concert started and... OH. MY. GOD. Amazing is an understatement. TSO was just a great, and in some ways even better in person, than on CD. Chris, one of the guitarist, is hilarious. Lexi and I had never really been to a full concert so we didn't know how long this was going to last. When the band stopped playing after an hour and a half we thought, "Man this was a great concert." Then Chris started introducing the members of the band, in a UK hoodie no less (people went nuts), and stated, "This is something we like to do halfway through the show." Lexi and I just looked at each other with wide eyes and said... "Halfway?"

And then they launched into playing all over again. That combined with the lights and the pyro technics were soooo cool! I have two videos on my cell, one of which is set as my background.

Seriously, if you ever get the chance, see TSO in concert. It is something everyone should see before they die. I want to go again!
