Kinda Important...
Dec. 23rd, 2008 09:53 pmI've been getting ready to write one of my looooong journal posts but I figured this was important enough that it deserved it's own.
I will be having surgery Dec. 30th.
I went to my OBGYN today and she told me that I have two rather large cysts on each of my ovaries (well one on each). She says that it could be one of two things, Endometriosis or Dermoid cysts, both of which are binign (sp).

Dermoid cysts - Because of the ability of certain cells in the ovaries to develop into any number of types of cells, occasionally a cyst will develop that contains cells of hair, teeth, and other growing tissues. They are often small and may not cause symptoms. They can, however, become large and cause pain.
They haven't caused me any pain so she's leaning towards the second. My doc is 99% sure it's not cancer. It's going to be an out patient surgery. This is the first time I will have been put to sleep for anything.
I'm not scared though.
