Dec. 31st, 2008 01:36 pmOn Dec. 29th I had to start my "clean out" by drinks some Magnesium Citrate and then have an Enema before going to bed. The Citrate is supposed to have a "Pleasing Lemony Flavor" according to the bottle. "Pleasing Lemony Flavor" my ass. It was more like "You will be drinking pure rotten lemons".
I didn't sleep very well that night so I was very grumpy on the way to the hospital but thankfully once at the hospital I didn't have to wait long for the nurse's to go over my files. I had to be there by 12:45, we were there by 12. I was taken back to prep around 1:45/2pm and my surgery was around 3pm.
Let me just go on and say, I have a wonderful doc. She came in from her vacation to do two surgeries and gave us her personal cell phone number in case I developed a high fever after going home. I'm glad I'm so lucky to have her as a doc.
They gave me "happy meds" before I went back to the surgery room but I couldn't really tell that they were effecting me. My mom and dad came back before they took me, my gran and cousin Emily came back (Emily had made me a get well sign that is tre cute). My two great aunt's also came but I had already been taken back.
The nurses were all very nice, something for which I am very thankful for. Nothing like being in a bad mood when you're going back into surgery. One of the nurse's took some blood and another asked me if I was feeling any pain and I just said, "Um... where she just stuck my arm." They thought that was very funny. Before giving me the IV the nurse rubbed some numbing stuff on my hand, man... I wish they'd put that stuff on me any time I got a shot or had blood taken. I often have very hard veins to find so they usually end up sticking me more than once.
After I was in the surgery room they told me to take 4 deep breaths, I think I made it to 3 and then I heard, "Miss -last name-? Miss -last name-?" when I woke up. The nurse said, "On a scale of 1 to 10 how's your pain?"
I told her, "3." So she gave me some meds and about 15 minutes later asked me again, "2 but still close to 3."
I think she gave me some more meds and then it was a 1.5.
I got to leave the hospital around 6 and we got home around 7:30, I slept most of the way home and then took a pain killer and went to bed from 7:30-6:30am. I got up, ate some crackers and drank some coke took a pain killer and went back to bed.
I don't think they gave me morphin but I do have another pain killer and stuff for nausea. Amazingly I wasn't hungry when I woke up (truly amazing since I hadn't had anything to eat since midnight the night before) but I drank 3 cups of coke and ate around 10 club crackers. We went through DQ on the way home and mom got me a sundae. It was yummy.
I'm okay, in a bit of pain and really really sleepy.

Date: 2009-01-05 04:21 am (UTC)I'm mostly healed now. I go back to the doc this Friday for my check up and then it's back to school on Monday.
Hmm... speaking of my check up I need to figure out what time it is... that's usually pretty important XD.
