Drabble: Naptime
Nov. 12th, 2012 08:32 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Fandom: Twilight
Pairing: Jasper/Seth
Prompt: Nap
Dedication: For
lovergyul who wanted some Seth & Luka time.
Seth sat on the couch with his back resting against the arm as he read a book. Luka was on the floor playing with his trains. Every now and then Seth would look away from his book to watch Luka, making sure the four year old didn’t put a metal train anywhere it shouldn’t go. Satisfied, Seth went back to his book, though really he was thinking of his husband and how much he missed him. Jasper was away hunting and would be gone for another two days. He wasn’t the only one who missed Jasper, Luka had been asking at least twice a day when his papa was coming home.
“Daddy?”
Seth looked away from his book, finding Luka standing at the end of the couch, his blanket in hand. “Yeah baby?”
“’M tired…” Luka said softly rubbing one of his golden eyes with a fist.
“You wanna take a nap with daddy?” Seth questioned with a smile. His little Luka was so adorable. Luka nodded and climbed up onto the couch. Seth held his book away with one hand while Luka settled himself with his head resting on Seth’s shoulder. Luka held his blanket close, practically snuggling with it, as he brought his thumb to his mouth. Seth leaned his head against Luka’s after pressing a light kiss to his hair. He knew his high body heat would put Luka to sleep quickly, it always did.
“Daddy,” Luka mumbled.
“Hm?”
“Wadda read’n?”
“You want a story Luka?”
“Mhm.”
Seth glanced at his book and dubbed it inappropriate for Luka by a few years, so he improvised. “Alright, once upon a time… there was a young dark haired prince who fell in love with a golden haired knight…”

Date: 2012-11-19 03:40 am (UTC)Oh wow Starry! You are not a creeper (Although I was kinda nervous AND surprised to see your post) I did not know that's how you felt, but just know I understand. You can't force yourself to write something if your heart is not in it. But just know that you DO have fans and supporters out there who believe and miss you. You have such a way of writing that's very magnetic to people. In addition, your writing is an inspiration to others. At the end of the day, you got to do what's best for you. I am glad though that that option has not been take off the table. That gives me a little hope.
I am glad avari believes in you, but just know others do too.
Losing your muse and trying to gain it back is so hard sometimes. I started a great story last year, finished it, then made a sequel BUT never finished that one. I lost my muse and my interest just disappeared. So believe me I know how you feel. I've just been reading other stories hoping it will come back.
I am glad to know fans like me help you out. Keep up the good work Starry and don't give up on anything you set your mind to. Maybe one day. Hopefully, of or when that day comes, I'll be the first to know. Lol! Don't forget! ;)

Date: 2012-11-19 04:14 am (UTC)My writing's still, I dunno, very fragile right now. I guess I'm going through a phase because I felt like I had plateau-ed with my Twilight fanfiction or, well, my writing in general I suppose. I'm still having trouble with inspiration and second guessing myself, but I'm just paranoid in most cases, lol.
I'm glad—no, beyond glad. I can't tell you what it means to me to know that my writing has this sort of effect on people because, really, I never thought I wrote that well (though, that seems to be a trend with artists and whatnot, lol).
I can only say thank you, thank you and thank you for believing in me, reading my fanfiction and saying such kind things instead of doing what a lot of other readers would do – bitch because it's not finished.

Date: 2012-11-19 12:18 pm (UTC)Well having self-doubt is something ALL writers have. It's the feeling of wondering if you're good or if readers are going to like it and etc. That's normal, but if people are giving you compliments AND are taking the time out to write you messages letting you know your writing is good and you are well missed, then that means you ARE good. You have done GREAT with Twilight. I promise you that. All of your Edward and Jacob stories are the BEST I've ever written (Avari is more Jasper/Seth). They're alot more realistic than others. Don't get me wrong, there are some talented writers out there for that couple that I've read and loved, but yours just stand out. Plus your messages on your profile are so blunt and they make laugh so much and I'm like "Readers are probably pissing you off." Lol! If you haven't don't great, you wouldn't still be getting reviews. Lol!
You are WELCOME! And believe me I know about the bitching and moaning. I've been getting those messages too. Lol! It's funny how readers take these kinds of thing so HARD. Lol!
Don't ever give up on something you love to do. There will be times that trying and tough, but you got to hold on especially if it's something you love that's worth it.

Date: 2012-11-19 05:41 pm (UTC)Realism is always something I strived for in my Twilight fanfiction, just because I was SO tired of seeing Edward and Jacob fall insanely in love with each other, like, right after the imprint. It's just...ridiculous. I mean, yes, the imprint is seen as a crutch in the fandom, but if you're going to use it, why not exploit it? I wanted to give the fandom an imprinting story they hadn't seen before and, I guess I accomplished that.
I'm always blunt and honest, but a lot of the times it's because I get the SAME reviews from fans asking the SAME questions -- questions that could be answered in my profile if they'd just check.
Like, omg, today I got a PM from a fan asking about the Toeing the Line sequel. I answered politely, well, maybe I was a little short with them, but omfg, it says in my profile that I'm done with Twilight fanfiction for the moment.
*siiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
Hey, in attempts NOT to hijack Avari's story and comment count, lol, do you want my email address? Or maybe my yahoo messenger info? If you have one?
